Cheerios... with Warm Milk
As I was pouring my cup of decaf coffee this morning, something triggered a memory. The memory of having breakfast at my grandmother's house and eating Cheerios with warm milk.
My grandmother would serve Cheerios with warm milk poured on top. I don't recall whether this was only in the winter or also in the summer. She would heat the milk in a small sauce pan on the stove in her kitchen, and simply pour it on top, just as most people pour cold milk. I think the last time that I had Cheerios that way was in her kitchen many, many years ago.
It probably wouldn't be the same if the milk was heated in the microwave... but maybe I'll try it some day.
